My biography. Well, as you can tell by my picture I'm Korean. Some people think I'm from Indiana and that I'm the youngest of six kids, but I'm really Korean. And damn proud of it buddy! (My apologies if your name actually is Buddy, buddy.)

Actor, Comedian and...

If you've come to the site you probably know me as either an actor or a stand-up comedian. Sure I'm an actor. Sure I'm a stand-up. But there is more to me. I'm an actor, a comedian and a ballerina. You don't know me as a ballerina cause frankly there aren't many opportunities to ballet on television. (That's how we describe what we do in the ballet biz.) Don't get me started on the absence of ballerinas in films.

I'm a damn good ballerina, too, buddy.

Let me tell you, it ain't easy to make a living doing ballet, particularly if you've never been paid to do it. But soon, someday soon, people will say "That Gaffigan is so great at ballet, did you know he does stand-up and acts? Wow, I'd really like to be his friend." It'll happen, buddy.

Well, I wanted to bring all of you together. So that those who know me as an actor can see my stand-up, so those who know me as a stand-up can see my acting and so all of you can buy my CDs. Just kidding -- actually I'm serious, buy the CDs.
JIM GAFFIGAN has proven himself a major talent beloved to a wide range of audiences, achieving accolades and awards for his stand-up comedy, acting, and writing.

His clever, quiet style has made him one of the top five most successful touring comedians in the country today and his CDs and DVDs have reached platinum sales.  Gaffigan has had an unprecedented number of appearances on late night’s “Letterman" and “Conan." His writing and voice work on the animated series “Pale Force” for Conan led to nominations for both a Broadband Emmy and a Webby Award.

Gaffigan has had breakout guest appearances on many comedies and dramas ranging from HBO's cult hits "Flight of the Concords" and "Bored to Death" to dramatic roles in all three versions of  "Law & Order".

In recent years, Gaffigan has also become a mainstay on the big screen with memorable roles in  "Going the Distance", "Away We Go" and "It's Kind of a Funny Story." Gaffigan will next be seen alongside Jennifer Connolly, Ed Harris, Pierce Bronson, and Greg Kinnear in the highly anticipated film "Salvation Boulevard” which will premier at the Sundance Film Festival in 2011.

Further broadening his career, Gaffigan will soon star in his first Broadway production, “That Championship Season”. As part of the highly acclaimed play, Gaffigan will appear in the ensemble alongside Chris Noth, Brian Cox, Jason Patric, and Kiefer Sutherland; previews will start next Spring.
